The Give Your Head A Shake Category

At first I thought I was reading The Onion, but no, this is real. I've even got a second source, the good journalist that I am. (And by journalist I mean someone who sits in a chair and reads newspapers and on-line news sites).

The Globe and Mail piece has this gem from the museum's founder: ""Everyone has to defend their position in a way that is logical and scientific," explains Ken Ham, the Creation Museum's founder and guiding force. But "if you don't take a stand on a literal Genesis, eventually you'll see Christianity collapse."

Yes. Well. Right. The museum supports this point through such logic and science as having a display that depicts dinosaurs and humans co-habitating. Presumably, Hanna-Barbara is mounting a law suit over copyright infringement. The museum also disputes the fossil record and claims the Earth is only 6,000 years old. Next year they are planning to open an exhibit that shows the sun orbiting around the earth and how you can drop an apple up.

Reading it a second time, I had to check again to make sure this wasn't on The Onion, especially since the founder's name is Ham. (See, I've read the Bible) Sadly, oh how sadly, it turns out that this is all real.

If Christianity is solely resting upon a literal interpretation of Genesis, then it is in a lot more trouble than I thought it was.
