If the IOC was really concerned about human rights and environmental responsibility, they wouldn't have given China the Olympics in the first place.

To labour a tired point: the Olympics are about money - TV contracts, strategic product placements and opening up undeveloped markets.

Not that there's anything really wrong with that.
