Nice chart about the prices of Big Macs across the world. Surprising to see a Big Mac more expensive in Canada than in Japan, but as the article points out, prices tend to be balanced out, so other things in Japan are more expensive.
When I was over there, I stayed away from eating at McDonald's not only for a health reason, but for the thought that I was fulfilling a stereotype of the big gaijin who can't handle the intricacies of delicate Japanese food. Most McDonald's that I saw there had large windows and seats that faced the street, which are convenient for the Japanese to see foreigners in their native habitat.
