The Only Man Making Sense

If you haven't heard of Bjorn Lomborg, you should probably spend some time hearing what he is saying on climate change. He's not a denier, but he is questioning what exactly to do about it and bringing a more reasoned and level-headed approach to the current histrionics that dominate the current atmosphere. (I was going to use the term 'current debate' but according to Al Gore there is no longer one)

I'm still undecided on climate change but I definitely think that we have to have a serious discussion on what we can do. Getting off of fossil fuels just makes sense to me, regardless of the environmental impact. The big obstacle in alternative energy is that it's simply not affordable. I've argued this before -- we are lacking leadership on this issue. We need something akin to the Apollo space program to get us moving in the right direction. I don't think the Kyoto protocol is the right step -- any plan that doesn't include China and India is just spitting into the wind.
